How Does My Book, Grandpa's Secret, Help Children?
November 12th 2012
Death and communication with those that have passed are very real experiences that everyone will have exposure to in their lifetime and yet it is a subject that many of us have difficulty with. As adults we have difficulty articulating these natural processes because we usually feel such a profound sense of loss that emotionally it may leave us in a state of great sadness. Children are very observant, especially of their parents, and sense that death is something to be FEARED as it causes great sadness.
Grandpa’s Secret teaches children that it is a natural process and although one may feel sadness you have the ability to communicate with those that have passed. The simple knowing of this can demystify death for children. It can replace fear of death with acceptance of death as a natural transitionary process and thus easing the grieving process. Grandpa’s Secret is a tool of empowerment for children.
Lots of love,
Ruby
